Patrick Swanney

Patrick was born and brought up in Lancashire and locally educated in Whalley. He attained a Law degree from Sheffield in 2008 and  Patrick qualified as a Solicitor in 2010.

 He trained with Watson Ramsbottom Ltd specialising in Private Client work and was appointed a Director in 2014 as Deputy Head of the Private Client department.

 Patrick joined Smith Sutcliffe Solicitors in 2016 following a relocation to the area and is working at our Padiham Office.

 Patrick is a Dementia Champion and a member of a number of local Dementia Action Alliances which help and assist those living with Dementia and to help educate the public about their individual needs and how best to support them.

He specialises in all aspects of Private Client work including

  • Estate and Tax Planning for UK

  • Drafting of Wills
  • Residential Care Fee Planning
  • Formation of trusts and advice on trust issues
  • Administration of Estates
  • Powers of Attorney and
  • Court of Protection applications.

In his personal time, Patrick is the 1st Xi Captain of former Ribblesdale League Club and now Lancashire League Cricket Club Great Harwood and is also a Trustee of the Hyndburn Leisure Group.
