Domestic Violence

Domestic Violence and Abuse is a serious problem and your safety is our priority.

We work closely with Safenet, East Lancashire Womens Refuge and Sure Start Childrens Centres  which are often the first place of safety when families feel threatened. We also liase with the Independent Domestic Violence Advocates who assist victims of abuse to press their case for steps to be taken to protect them.

Often the only solution is to obtain an Emergency Injunction to prevent the abuser coming into contact with you or encouraging or in any way suggesting that any other person should do so.  This can be backed up with powers given to the Police to respond if the Injunction is ignored

We may also be able to obtain a Court Order to remove an abuser from the family home if this is appropriate 

We can usually meet with you and make emergency applications to the court on the same day.
